Field Post #5

 Nighttime blog post

November 16, 5:49 pm
It was absolutely freezing! It was very still, and there was no precipitation.
The temperature was 34 degrees F
Length of the day is about 9 hours and 45 minutes
I saw a very pretty sunset, and walked through snow instead of leaves. There were still some leaves on a few trees, and the stream was frozen over.
I noticed that there were no sounds of animals anymore, and that the stream had frozen over.

Field Study #4

    1. October 30, 3:45 pm
    2. There was a cold breeze and it was slightly damp feeling and cloudy.
    3. 43 degrees Fahrenheit
    4. The length of day is about 10 hours and 20 minutes.
    5. I heard chirping birds, and saw a few, but I did not see any other wild life. I heard the wind and leaves rustling, as well as the stream trickling, and felt cold air.
    6. I observed that most of the previous bugs and water spiders that I had seen when it was warmer, were gone.

Field Study #3

 Date/time: Sunday, October 19, at 1:05 pm.
Climate: Sunny, a little bit breezy, and very cool.
Temperature: 53 degrees
Length of day: 10 hours and 49 minutes
Organisms AND observations: I heard more leaves this time; falling to the ground and rustling in the trees. There were not as many birds heard as last time. I observed squirrels and water life, but did not see as much wildlife in general. I loved seeing the beautiful leaves all over the place; some changing to a crisp brown, others changing to vibrant colors before falling to the earth.

Field Post #2

      1. September 30, 4:00 pm
      2. Weather was sunny, breezy, and cool.
      3. Temperature: 60 degrees
      4. length of day: 11 hours and 29 minutes
      5. I saw a grasshopper, saw and heard a woodpecker, felt the crunchy leaves, and heard the wind rusting tall grasses/plants.
      6. I started to see the leaves changing color, and falling to the ground. The air was cooler than before, yet there were many more birds singing this time. It was probably because of the sunshine!

Kaylin's field study (bio 2)

*Sounds of the spot included: birds chirping, the leaves rustling, and the steam trickling.

(My spot is the red dot)
DATE/TIME: September 11, @ 3:30 pm
CLIMATE: a little breezy, cool, overcast, and humid.
TEMPERATURE: 60 degrees
LENGTH OF DAY: Sunrise, 7:23. Sunset, 7:51.
*daylight hours: 12 hours and 27 minutes
ORGANISMS SMELLED, FELT, HEARD, SEEN, ect: I was able to hear the rustling of the leaves and the soft trickle of the creek at my location. I didn't see too many animals-besides a squirrel or two- probably because of the cold weather. I noticed many overgrown plants, pretty flowers/weeds, and a lot of vines in the trees. I felt cool wood on my fingertips, as well as soft plants between my fingers. I smelled dirt and earth; mostly from the sandy brooke.
